Natural Wine is a buzz term that is thrown around a lot these days so we thought it was about time that we did a tasting to talk about what natural wine actually is.

What is organic vs biodynamic? 

What is vegan wine? What is orange wine and how do you make a pet nat?

What is vin de soif or glouglou wines?

 

Fundamentally are these wines delicious? We think so!

 

Good friend of the shop and natural wine trailblazer Ania Smelskaya will answer all of those questions. Ania is a Brighton based sommelier and wine consultant, known for her innovative wine lists that focus on natural producers. She has worked and consulted for the likes of Sager+ Wilde, Silo, Akoko and Osip. You may also recognise her from covering the shop when Verity needs a holiday.

 

From 4pm Ania will guide you through 5 different natural wines and we’ll include some appropriate nibbles along the way. The tasting will last approximately 1.5-2 hours and you will be welcome to stay afterwards to drink by the glass.

 

We will taste:

 

1 pet nat

1 unfiltered white 

1 orange

1 pink

1 glouglou red 

 

So join us on Sunday 13th March for a fun and relaxed afternoon of natural wines and good times.

Keeping Us Safe

We have 12 tickets available for this event, as as usual we will space people out around our table and in the window seats. Due to the close proximity of our space, we would strongly encourage our guests to take a lateral flow test the morning of the event. Please do not attend if you have any symptoms. We will provide hand sanitiser throughout the space and have our air purifier running as well as a keeping a window open to keep us as safe as possible.

We will be taking photos through the afternoon for use on social media and our website so if you’d prefer not to be in them, do let Verity know.

 

Cancellations

If you have to cancel for any reason, please give us at least 5 days notice in order to receive a refund. If you have to cancel after this time, we will do our best to re-sell your tickets and give you a refund.

 

If the event sells out then please drop us a line and we’ll add you to the cancellation list.

 

*We are lucky to have a limited on-licence for these events. Last orders will be called at 10pm and we will say our fond farewells by 10:30pm.
