Having previously worked for a number of small independent creative companies, my ultimate dream was always to create my own business.

With a passion for vintage, handmade, and nature, 4 years ago I started to gather together a selection of items that I found during my ‘treasure hunts’ around various antique markets and artisan fairs. Eventually I decided to put everything together and in November 2016 booked at stall at the Artisan Market in Shoreham. It was a great way of not only getting some feedback on what I was doing, but also to meet people in my local community who shared a similar passion. From then on I mainly sold through other local vintage fairs and markets, until 2019 when I had the opportunity to rent some space for 12 months in a pop-up shop in Shoreham. It was a wonderful year and I knew that it was something that I wanted to continue doing, however it had to be in Shoreham where I live.

Miraculously the dream finally came true and the opportunity to lease the shop that I’d always hoped for suddenly became realised, and in October 2020 ‘The Living Room’ came to Shoreham High Street, selling an eclectic mix of homeware, gifts and furniture. I also try to support local makers as much as possible.

I’m so excited to be back in the town that I love and it’s wonderful to see so many other independent shops starting to appear. Shoreham is a fantastic town with a very friendly and supportive community and I feel very privileged to be part of it.
